Important Points:
1. The UGC NET exam comprises of two papers i.e., Paper I and Paper II.
2. The Paper I comprise questions that intend to assess the teaching/research aptitude of the applicant. The questions are primarily designed to test reasoning ability, reading comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness of the applicant.
3. The Paper II consists of the subject selected by the candidates.
4. The medium of question paper will be in English and Hindi.
5. The medium of question paper should be chosen carefully while filling application form.
6. Candidates opting for Hindi medium will be given bilingual paper. Whereas, English medium paper will be in English medium only.
7. Candidates should answer in medium as selected in application form.
8. Each question carries 2 marks.
9. 2 marks will be awarded for every correct answer.
10. There is no negative marking for incorrect answer.
11. No marks will be given for un attempted questions.
12. Candidates need to choose one option as correct answer.

The UGC NET Paper I is intended to assess the teaching/ research aptitude of candidates. Paper 1 exam is common to all applicants and it tests reasoning ability, reading comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness of the candidate. Important Points

UGC NET MARKING SCHEME 2021
The questions will be of objective type (multiple choice questions). The Paper 1 consists of 50 questions and Paper 2 consists of 100 questions. Each question carries 2 marks and there is no negative marking in UGC NET. Check the following tabular mentioned below:

UGC NET Exam Timings 2021
